Gladnik Bridge

Optimization and Enhancement of the Bridge Design on the Lašva – Nević Polje Expressway Section

Completed project

Through the optimization of the initial design, a highly functional, economical, and aesthetically pleasing single-span structure was achieved to bridge the regulated Lašva riverbed. The resulting technical solution is a 26-meter-long integral post-tensioned reinforced concrete frame bridge. Its layout is tailored to the local road alignment and the 14-meter-wide riverbed, crossing the river axis at an 81° angle. Designed to minimize impacts on an adjacent existing underpass, the structural modifications are limited to extending the wing walls, each supported by an additional pile. The 9.90-meter-wide cross-section accommodates a 6.40-meter roadway and two 1.50-meter pedestrian sidewalks, maintaining a clearance of 0.80 to 0.96 meters above the 100-year flood level.
